I’m back from a booze & pizza-filled weekend. Saturday started out pretty great – I burned a few calories while doing a major house cleaning job (I’m talking, moving refrigerator and oven to get behind and clean up the dust bunnies/things that have fallen behind and long been forgotten type of cleaning). I then set out to do a four mile run that was partially sidelined due to my inability to breathe after having all the dust get cozy in my lungs. I still ran and walked for a full 50 minutes – but then came the drinking.
I’m very happy to say I didn’t over-eat (or really eat much of anything) on Saturday so calorie-wise I wasn’t terrible. Sunday, however, I more than made up for that by making sweet sweet love to an entire pizza. Now I need to get back on track and am starting my 10k training schedule beginning today with strength training. I’ve decided to follow the Self Magazine schedule simply because I could tear it out and put it on my fridge. It’s a six week program and I’m really hoping to follow it to the T and then put a big ass X over the days I’ve completed. Also, I’m committed to eating correctly. We need to go grocery shopping desperately so this morning I grabbed a boca burger, bun, orange and quickly threw together some frozen broccoli & onions with a little balsamic to have for lunch. Will this get me through the day until dinner? Um, probably not. But that’s ok, I’ll find something that won’t derail me.

Now my goals for this week include: Following my 10k schedule, eating healthy and recording at least 1 podcast for my training.
